This coffee table was another Craigslist find. I had been searching for a coffee table for a while, but unable to find one I liked. This one was posted for $25 and I thought it might be the one. I drove out to see it, and thought it was beautiful. I believe the wood is either mahogany and teak, or mahogany and walnut. The pattern on the top of the table is absolutely beautiful. There are two drawers on one side which are lined with green felt. The legs are square metal, brass in color. Unfortunately the downside of this table is that's it's perfect bulldog height, which means I'm constantly wiping Dozer drool from the top of it. Still, it's a little pice of MCM that I love.
Welcome to my blog! I'm a military wife left frequently to my own devices on the homefront. We are currently on deployment No. 3, but who's counting, really?
Anyway, while the hubby is away, the wife gets insanely bored. Despite three children who routinely take up 99% of my time, I find ways to cure the 1% I have left to myself.
My latest obsession is mid-century modern decorating. I'm beginning to fall in the love with the 50's and 60's. What a fun time to be a homemaker! All the funky, colorful, sometimes downright bizarre designs! All the clean, tight lines, interesting patterns, and beautiful real woods.
My favorite past time has always been browsing thrift stores in search of that hidden treasure, but now it's taken on a whole new purpose as I transform my home into a picture from the 60's. Now I carefully go through each aisle, looking for that little piece of the past to bring it all together.
This blog is dedicated to logging each and every little find with pictures and a small story as to how I found it. My hope is to gather histories about the items I've found, either through the internet, the library, or even from comments here.
So please, if you happen upon my Blog and see something you remember or know information about, feel free to leave a comment and tell me all about it! I'd love to hear from you!
